HOW OUR DAY WENT:
We came in to Friday expecting a decent
sized drop, potentially to the 1192.50-1191.50 zone. The ES
had a gap down open, and that was bought and the ES bounced
to 1206.00 and stalled/ reversed. The ES dropped to 1200.00
and bounced back, but double top at 1206 resistance gave us
a re-entry just before the Goldman news and the ES dropped
13.50 points to the 1192.50-1191.50 zone before any kind of
bounce occurred. Members were told to stay with the short
side, and the ES dropped 13 points from 1197.75 to 1184.50
before reversing with a bit of gusto. After getting to 1193.50,
a pullback reversed from just under the 1188.50 support, but
made a double top at 1193.50 before the close. The volatility
picked up, meaning more opportunities ahead.

Today's Trading Recap: 04/05/10
HOW OUR DAY WENT:
The gap up open was sold on Monday and
the ES dropped 4 points from 1178.50 to 1174.50 (right at
the 1174.75-1174.00 support zone) and turned right back up.
That lead to a good rally, as the ES made a new high for the
year at 1183.75 about 90 minutes into the trading day. That
turned into the top of a narrow 2.75 point range between that
1183.75 high on top and 1181.00 on the bottom as the market
traded sideways after the first 90 minutes of trading.

HOW OUR DAY WENT:
A lower open was bought on Wednesday, but
the bounce didn't stick and the ES dropped from 1167.00 to
1161.25 in the first 25 minutes of trading. The move then
reversed back up, and the ES rallied back to 1170.50 before
pulling back. A bounce back to 1170.50 was rejected again,
and then a 123 top formed getting us short and the ES headed
7.75 points lower in a hurry.

Today's Trading Recap: 03/02/10
HOW OUR DAY WENT:
The 1121.50-1122.50 area on the ES was
rejected shortly before stocks opened and the early strength
was sold as the ES dropped 4.50 points to 1116.25 before
turning up. That first decent pullback was reversed, and a
tepid buy-up to the 1121.50-1122.50 area followed. At 1:55pm
the group was given a lot of reasons to be selling via
Instant Message, and after taking out 1119 that level turned
into resistance as the market gave back its gains. The ES
reached 1105.25 to fill the gap on the daily chart then
bounced a but into the close.

Today's Trading Recap: 02/26/10
HOW OUR DAY WENT:
The ES opened at the 1103.50-1104.25 initial
resistance and quickly dropped 4.50 points to 1099.00 and
turned back up. A second reversal from 1103.50 then lead to
a 7.50 point drop from 1103.75 to 1096.25 before reversing
again. So, there was 12 points of potential opportunity just
from initial resistance in the first 35 minutes of trading.
The rally to 1106 was not played, but the pullback to 1102.00
was just over the 1101.50 updated support (along with 1814 on
the NQ) and the ES popped up 3 points to a lower high at
1105.00. That was a spot to reverse from long to short and
a pullback then held just over 1102.50 support. Then in the
last hour we were looking to short a reversal from the 1107-
1108 area. The ES popped up to 1106.50 and quickly reversed,
and then it dropped to the 1102.25 level, at the 1102.50-
1102.00 support/target, at 4pm.

TradeStalker's RBI Update 02/11/10
.................................................
TradeStalker's
R.B.I. Trader's Update
2 / 11 / 2010
(Published Since 1996)
...............................................
Dateline: 6:49 pm eastern time, 2/11/2010
The ES opened lower on Thursday and after a tiny pop the ES
dropped from 1064.25 down to 1057.50 in the first 20 minutes
of trading. The market reversed course and rallied back to
just over the 1066.25 resistance area before pulling back.
The ES reversed back up from updated support and then ran up
to the 1077.00-1078.00 zone. After reversing from 1077.75 on
the first attempt, the ES dropped 4 points to 1073.75 and
bounced back. The bounce then went to 1078.00 and quickly
reversed, and then it was chop between 1077.25 and 1073.50
going into the close.
The market is one decent up day from a potential trading top
by the look of things, and we could see the ES go for the
1081.50-1082.00 area (or higher if not rejected early)
before a decent pullback occurs. If that plays out, then a
decent sized pullback of 8-10 ES points would be likely if
the volatility is going to continue.
We get Retail Sales before the open on Friday. As long as
the initial support areas are held, the trends will remain
pointing higher. So, if there is early weakness it should
set up a good trade on the long side when it reverses. If
the ES doesn't show any sign of turning from the 1081.50-
1082.00 zone then we are likely headed back to a good
resistance zone up around the 1085.50-1086.25 area on the
ES. If that zone is reached, then beware of a reversal as
that is about as far as a rally should go unless the market
is super strong and headed back towards the 1090's.

TradeStalker's RBI Update 02/10/10
.................................................
TradeStalker's
R.B.I. Trader's Update
2 / 10 / 2010
(Published Since 1996)
...............................................
Dateline: 6:16 pm eastern time, 2/10/2010
The lower open was bought on Wednesday and the ES popped up
5.75 points to 1069.75 and quickly reversed. The early game-
plan worked nicely as the first bounce failed under initial
resistance and then the ES dropped to 1056.25 in trend down
fashion. The trend was reversed an hour into the day, and a
rally was pretty good, but it was stopped cold after a
direct hit of the 1071.50-1072.50 resistance zone. After a 6
point drop to 1065.25, we were re-entering a short on a
bounce towards 1069 and the ES rejected 1068.50 twice before
dropping 5 points to 1063.50. A bounce back to the 1066.00-
1066.50 followed, and it set up one last short as the ES
dropped from 1066.25 to 1063.00 just before settlement.
Once again the market was unable to hold its gains and
closed poorly. Also, the 1071.50-1072.50 resistance zone was
soundly rejected so that might be all there is for upside
potential at this time. The ES was feeling comfortable
around the 1066 area, having opened and settled at 1106.50
and 1066.25 on Tuesday. The Wednesday open was at 1065.75
and the ES was right there at the 4 pm close for stocks. The
fact that they dropped into settlement looks like a tip-off
for more weakness ahead.
On Thursday look for the same pattern of early weakness
being bought, and if that plays out then the first decent
bounce should set up a good shorting opportunity as long as
the move fails under the initial resistance zones. If that
1066.25 area is not rejected, then a test of that 1071.50-
1072.50 zone would be key to how strong, or weak, the market
is. On the downside, if the Wednesday low areas at 1056.50-
1056.00 on the ES and 1739.25-1738.50 on the NQ are tested,
and not quickly reversed, then this move lower could gather
some steam. It would open the door to re-visit the 1048.00-
1047.50 area on the ES before any kind of reversal attempt.
If the market gets down there, it must rebound sharply
otherwise we will be back to testing the major support that
this publication nailed last Friday at the 1044-1042 area on
the SP500 cash.

direct hit of the 1071.50-1072.50 resistance zone. After a 6
point drop to 1065.25, we were re-entering a short on a
bounce towards 1069 and the ES rejected 1068.50 twice before
dropping 5 points to 1063.50.

TradeStalker's
R.B.I. Trader's Update
2 / 4 / 2010
(Published Since 1996)
...............................................
Dateline: 6:46 pm eastern time, 2/4/2010
The ES opened down 11.50 points on Thursday, and then went
trend-down to 1070.25. I then gave new resistance at the
1073.50-1074.00 area, and the bounce reversed from 1073.75,
giving as good of a low risk entry as was possible. Then
after dropping to 1063.75, the ES bounced back to the
1069.50-1070.25 resistance. Staying under the 1070 level, a
double top at 1069.50 set up yet another good reward/ risk
opportunity as the ES dropped to and then through the 1062
target.
The market went from very oversold to overbought at
Wednesday's close, and with the damage that was done by
breaking through 1093.50, the downside snow-balled lower. On
the first leg down from the 1147 top I stated that all that
was missing was a sign of capitulation. We got some of signs
of that on Thursday. The closing Trin on Thursday was 3.43,
which normally means the market is within a day of putting
together a good rally. In addition to that, after dropping
down to the 21 area, the Vix reversed and jumped up over 20%
on Thursday. The market has good downside momentum, but odds
of a decent rally occurring are pretty good.
We get the Jobs data before the open on Friday. If the
market opens lower, look for a reversal back up to set up a
trade on the long side, especially if there is a reversal
from the 1058.50-1057.50 area on the ES. If that plays out,
then beware of a reversal if the ES rallies back to the
1069.50-1070.25 resistance area and the move stalls out. If
that occurs, then the bears will still have the upper hand
as the bounces would still be failing. If that area is
exceeded, then a pullback would need to hold over the 1064
area to keep a new uptrend intact.

TradeStalker's RBI Update 02/02/10
.................................................
TradeStalker's
R.B.I. Trader's Update
2 / 2 / 2010
(Published Since 1996)
...............................................
Dateline: 5:56 pm eastern time, 2/2/2010
The early game-plan was to short early strength, then beware
of a reversal from the 1084.50-1084.00 key support area. The
ES popped up to the 1088.50-1089.00 zone and reversed,
dropping from 1089.00 to 1084.75 (1084.50-1084.00 pivotal
support) in 5 minutes and then turned back up. The bounce
stalled and reversed from 1088.50 and then dropped to the
1084.75 support again. The ES rallied 13 points to the 1097-
1098 resistance zone shortly after noon. Two small pullbacks
from 1097.00 followed, but the 1094.50 updated support held,
setting up a bounce to 1099.50 just before 2 pm. A pullback
to 1095.50 was reversed and a sprint to a 1101.50 high
occurred, and then selling took the market lower into the
close.
The 2 day rally has turned the short term internal gauges
from very oversold to modestly overbought. If there is one
more day of decent action, that would stretch the indicators
into overbought territory nearly across the board. The
sentiment sure turned bullish fast, and if the Vix drops a
bit more and then reverses, that will give some sell
signals.
The ES didn't like it over 1100 on Tuesday afternoon, and
reversed from just above that level. The ES settled about 3
points under fair value, so if there is a pop up to the
1099.50-1100.50 area that reverses early on Wednesday, that
should set up a good shorting opportunity. If that plays
out, or if the ES reverses from a bit higher up early in the
day near the 1103.50-1104.00 area, then the initial support
at the 1095.50-1094.75 area on the ES will need to be
defended, or quickly reversed if broken. The pullbacks have
been setting up good buying opportunities, reversing as soon
as the downside momentum fizzles and prices turn back up. So
that area should hold if the market is still in good shape.
If there is a decent sized pullback/ selloff, then a test of
the 1080.50-1079.75 area would need to reverse quickly,
otherwise we are having another technical breakdown and the
downside could gather some steam.

TradeStalker's
R.B.I. Trader's Update
1 / 27 / 2010
(Published Since 1996)
...............................................
Dateline: 6:21 pm eastern time, 1/27/2010
The ES popped up to 1090.50 on Wednesday and stalled out,
just under the 1091.00-1091.75 initial resistance, allowing
a good reward/risk entry on the short side. The ES dropped
9.50 points to the 1081.00 support area before reversing. A
double bottom at the 1082-1081 support lead to a bounce to
1088.50, then after a wedge break we had a nice short near
1086.00 and the ES dropped to 1082.25. The group was told to
beware buying there, that 1084.00-1084.50 was good resist
and the pop reversed at 1084.50 before a drop to 1081.75
before the Fed. After the release we got the down-up-down
move, then from 1082.00 again the trend move reached the
1091.00-1091.75 resistance and backed off. The pullback held
at 1085.25 then rallied to the 1096.75-1097.50 resistance by
the close.
The market put together a pretty good rally of of the spike
low after the Fed release. The 1078.50 low was just over the
1077.50-1076.50 zone, and if that is reached again, and
reverses, then a tradable low could be put in place. The
1092.50-1092.00 area on the ES needs to hold, or quickly
reverse if broken, otherwise the 1085.25-1084.50 can be
tested. That should be pivotal if it's reached. A reversal
back up from that area keep the market out of trouble. If
broken, then a test of Wednesday lows that reverses sets up
a good reward/ risk opportunity on the long side.
The NQ will need to avoid pulling the market down on
Thursday, as it appears to be weak while the ES looks like
it can go a bit higher. The ES peaked at the 1096.75-1097.50
resistance area, so follow through strength will need to
avoid reversing early, otherwise there is one more decent
pullback coming. If a dip can hold at or above the 1092.50-
1092.00 area then the up-trends will remain intact, but
don't expect a trend up day. If the ES reaches the 1104.00-
1104.50 area, and the move stalls or that area is rejected,
then it could be a bounce high before the downside resumes.

TradeStalker's RBI Update 01/06/10
.................................................
TradeStalker's
R.B.I. Trader's Update
1 / 6 / 2010
(Published Since 1996)
...............................................
Dateline: 6:26 pm eastern time, 1/6/2010
The ES popped up to the 1132.50 on the open (1132.50-1133.00
initial resistance) and quickly dropped to 1129.75 (1130.00-
1129.50 initial support) before bouncing back. Per the 2nd
intraday update, the rest of the day was "a choppy day with
new highs sold and the pullbacks are bought. The 1135.50
high was 1 tick under important resistance and the market
backed off as expected before the close.
The market might have higher to go, but the risk/reward up
here doesn't look very favorable at the moment. The very
short term internal gauges are overbought, with my RBI
Oscillator just turning from Sell territory. Along with
that, my 3 day thrust oscillator at +.60 (normal overbought
is +/- .50). Also, the sentiment is very bullish, and as a
contrary indicator that's not a great backdrop for higher
prices. In addition to that, the Vix made back-to-back new
52 week lows on Tuesday and Wednesday. If the Vix reverses
and closes up on Thursday it could give a number of sell
signals.
That said, the market really hasn't done anything wrong just
yet, and still has an outside chance to rally towards the
1141-1143 area on the ES. It looks like the upside should be
okay as long as the 1131.50-1130.75 area is defended, along
with the 10560 level on the Dow cash. If those areas are not
held, or quickly reversed if broken, then the bounces are
not likely going to stick. In fact, if the market does put
together a rally but it stalls out in new high ground, it
should set up at least a scalp on the short side the way the
market has been acting.
We get the Initial Claims before the open on Thursday, and
on Friday we get the Employment data before the open, so
another two-sided day is expected. The short side should
give the "easier" opportunities if there is a pop to around
the Wednesday highs, or a bit higher. On a pullback, expect
a bounce to occur unless the initial support areas are
broken and not quickly reversed.

TradeStalker's RBI Update 12/27/09
.................................................
TradeStalker's
R.B.I. Trader's Update
12 / 27 / 2009
(Published Since 1996)
...............................................
Dateline: 5:26 pm eastern time, 12/27/2009
The SP500 cash and futures finally broke out of the ranges
on Wednesday. On Thursday there was a gap up open, and
follow through buying took the ES up to the 1122.50-1124.00
resistance zone in the first 30 minutes. A small pullback
from 1122.50 to 1119.75 followed, and then the market
churned with an upside bias back to the highs at the close.
All of the major averages closed at new highs for the year
on Thursday. For the last 5 days the pullbacks have held,
and then the upside gets going again. However, the market
looks to be at an important spot here. The short term
indicators are very overbought, and the Vix gave 2 sell
signals, and normally this sets up a decent pullback - or at
best there is back and forth action. What keeps hope alive
for the bulls up here is that the last 2 days of the month,
first 2 days of a new month has a historical upside bias.
So, given this conflict, it will likely set the market up
for more volatility than we have seen recently. A pullback
shouldn't take out the 1117.75-1117.00 area on the ES, or
quickly reverse if it is broken, if the market is going to
avoid going back down into the old trading range.
On Monday, look for early strength to set up a shorting
opportunity if there is a reversal in the first 40 minutes
of trading. If that plays out, beware that as long as the
initial support areas hold on early weakness, the market
will still be in uptrends and in decent shape. If the market
wants to take off higher, then we could potentially see the
1154.00-1156.00 area before the move encounters trouble. I
doubt that occurs without a good pullback first though. If
the ES breaks the 1115.00-1114.75 zone and doesn't quickly
reverse, then the market could see downside acceleration as
the breakout would have failed.

R.B.I. Trader's Update
12 / 22 / 2009
(Published Since 1996)
...............................................
Dateline: 6:03 pm eastern time, 12/22/2009
The resistance around the 1115 level on the ES was reversed
in the first hour on Tuesday, and it fell to 1110.50 before
noon. Then the 1115-1116.00 area was reiterated as
resistance and the bounce reversed from 1115.25 and pulled
back to 1112.00 in a small range day.
This is the last update until Sunday night. We wish all of
you a Merry Christmas, and a safe trip for those who are
traveling. If not for you all, there wouldn't be a
TradeStalker publication and I thank you for your faith in
my work.
On Wednesday we get a batch of economic data before the
open, and then more at 9:55 am and 10:00 am. The market has
been active early, but then the move gets reversed around
lunchtime. The market doesn't appear to have much more to go
on the upside unless there is a good spark to bring in
buying. The buying dried up at the top of the range as the
ES quickly backed away from the 1115-1116 area easily.
If there is a decent sized pullback, then the long side
might become attractive. However, unless the market can
prove itself strong by breaking / holding the 1115-1116 area
on the ES, the market is vulnerable. If a drop to the
1109.75-1109.50 area on the ES is tested and reversed, then
a trade could set up on the long side but don't fall in love
with longs unless we get a move through that 1115-1116 area
and holds it on a pullback. If the market just pops through
that area and reverses, that could start a decent sized
selloff.

Today's Trading Recap: 12/21/09
HOW OUR DAY WENT:
The market gapped up and kept going
until reaching the 1111.50-1112.00 resistance zone on
the ES. The 1112.00 level was rejected and the ES pulled
back to 1109.00 updated support before heading back up. The
bounce failed at 1113.25, and after the break the 1111.25
level was new resistance. A bounce from the 1109.00 support
was reversed at 1111.50 and it started a drop to 1107.50
and a poor close.

Today's Trading Recap: 12/16/09
HOW OUR DAY WENT:
The market was dull and narrowly traded
in front of the Fed release. There was an up-down-up type
of pattern after the release, and in an instant message
members were told:
(Dec 16-14:26) mike: a pop tp 1109.00-1100.50 tht [s]talls
is a short
The ES bounced off 1106.50 to 1109.25 and then stalled,
setting up a good short for the group. We locked in part
of the position at 1108.00, and then the target was at
1104.75 was met on the way to a 1103.00 low, right at the
1103.00-1102.50 support zone.

TradeStalker's RBI Update 12/15/09
.................................................
TradeStalker's
R.B.I. Trader's Update
12 / 15 / 2009
(Published Since 1996)
...............................................
Dateline: 7:46 pm eastern time, 12/15/2009
The ES dropped to 1103.25 in the first 25 minutes of trading
on Tuesday and turned back up. That was at the second
support area at 1104.00-1103.50, and a rally to the 1109.50-
1110.25 resistance zone followed. The reversal there set up
a short, and the ES drifted down to 1104.00 support before
bouncing. However, the bounce couldn't clear the 1106.50-
1107.00 updated resistance area (1106.25 bounce high) and it
turned the ES back down. A drop of 6.00 points to 1100.25
followed, as the 1100.50-1099.75 zone was tested before a
bounce into the close.
On Tuesday the ES made its high at a good resistance zone,
and then in the last 15 minutes of stock trading it made a
low at a good support zone. The pullback put all of the
indicators back into neutral territory, backing out of short
term overbought levels with Tuesday's pullback. That should
make Tuesday's range important on the short term. If the low
areas from Tuesday are not held, then things could be
changing and a trip to the bottom of this range could then
be in the cards. If the highs from Tuesday are exceeded, and
not quickly reversed, then a breakout of the range on the
upside could occur.
We get the Fed decision on interest rate policy on Wednesday
at 2:15 pm. as long as the ES can hold the 1100.50-1099.75
area on an early pullback, then the market could rally into
the release. If there is a reversal from under the initial
resistance levels in the opening minutes of trading, then we
should see a quick, tradable, drop to test the Tuesday lows.
A reversal from near the 1100.50 level would then set up a
trade on the long side if it occurs in the first 40 minutes
of trading. If instead there is an early rally towards the
Tuesday high at the 1109.50-1110.25 area on the ES, and the
move stalls or is rejected, it should set up another
reversal.
Aside from that, if there is a trending move into the
release, the move is usually reversed around 2 pm or so.
After the Fed release, expect a quick back and forth move
(don't be surprised if it's bigger than a 6 point range as
we have been getting) and then after about 20 minutes a
trend should begin. That should make for a nice ride if the
timing is right. If there is a run up, beware of a reversal
when upside momentum fizzles. On a sharp drop, a reversal
back over the high of a low bar (2 or 5 minute chart) can
start a decent run up. If the market is not moving too fast,
I'll try to update in the Instant Messenger.

should see a quick, tradable, drop to test the Tuesday lows.
